Sydney Based Sailmakers

Choosing the right sails is important. Differences in sail material, cloth weights and options affect cost, durability and performance.

Whether you are a club racer seeking top performance under all conditions, a day sailor with an eye on value for money, or an offshore cruiser looking for durability, we can provide you with the solution.

Sail Design and Manufacture

Our sails are computer designed and hand finished - the best of both worlds.

We use the finest cloth, premium hardware, extra stitching and reinforcement throughout and a superb hand-sewn leather offshore finish which results in a sail well suited for circumnavigation or serious club racing. They come standard with leech line with clam cleats, large radial corner and reef patches, tell tales, flo-stripes and extra-large sailbags.

Sail Cloth

We manufacture our sails in a variety of high quality materials according to your requirements sourced from the world’s finest suppliers including Bainbridge, Contender, Dimension-Polyant and Challenge.

Among our most common cloths are Premium U.S. Dacron, Matrix Dacron, Kevlar, Mylar, Spectra, Pentex and HMT.

Construction Specification

For durability and longevity in Australian conditions, all our sails are manufactured to our “Premium Offshore” specification, which incorporates:

  • Headboards: Alloy (150mm+)
  • Patches: Radial tack 8%; head/clew 12%; all extra heavy thickness
  • Seams: Extra Strong (UV stabilised thread)
  • Head/Tack/Clew: Stainless steel cringles with leathers over webbing
  • Tapes: Extra large or doubled with a minimum of 2 stitching rows
  • Standard Extras: Heavy leech line, clam cleat with eyelets, telltales, trim stripes, extra large sailbag, handsewn leather reinforcements on all wear points
